                                         W. Gordon Wilkinson  B.A.  M.A.  A.T.C.

Gordon completed his B.A. in fine art at Bristol Polytechnic, Faculty of art and design. He then went to Goldsmiths College, London University to complete an Art Teachers Certificate and taught for several years in London exhibiting in several South London galleries.

In 1980 he turned to street art.  He worked for several years as Artist in Residence for Lambeth Council painting large murals around south London. By 1990 in partnership with his wife he had developed a decorative arts business working for private and commercial clients painting large murals and offering all kinds of decorative effects.

He returned to art teaching in 1994 teaching part time and carrying on with his own painting.  He completed an M.A. in fine art from Cheltenham and Gloucester University in 2000.

Gordon retired from teaching in 2015 to paint fulltime.

His intensely personal work draws on his life experiences.  It is influenced by surrealism and expressionism and a list of his favourite artists would include, Frieda Kahlo, Paula Rego, Otto Dix, Francis Bacon and Lucien Freud.
